About the Checklist:
Teaching Style determines the teacher’s general principles, management strategies and pedagogical designing for classroom instruction. The teaching style of every teacher is unique and different from one another, it depends on the subject being taught, educational philosophy, school’s mission statement and the personal preferences and values of the teacher.
The traditional models of teaching were teacher-centered where teachers are at the center of classroom instructions, however, over the past decade the focus has shifted to the student-centered model of learning where students are the main focus of the classroom instruction and the teachers are just a means to facilitate overall learning and development of students.
Eblity’s Teaching Styles Checklist is adapted from Staffordshire Evaluation of Teaching Styles (SETS) to understand the teaching style of teachers in a classroom setting. This checklist aims to help the teachers to identify their preferred teaching styles and work on improving their preferred teaching styles to suit the needs of their students and be flexible to adapt their teaching style to cater to diverse learners in a classroom setting.
Educators working in a school, tuition centers, or other teaching institutions or academies who are wanting to understand their preferred style of teaching.
This checklist is an indication of your current preferred teaching style and not a complete or comprehensive evaluation of your abilities as a teacher.
