Description

In this module, we will get insights about autism, explore in detail the challenges faced by children with autism and how these challenges impact the child’s academic performance, behaviours, social skills and daily life functioning in different settings. This module also focuses on the evidence-based intervention strategies that can be used to improve the outcomes of children with autism.


This module will equip caregivers/parents and professionals with the knowledge to identify early red flag signs of autism in children and help them learn strategies and techniques to effectively support children with autism at home, in the classroom and in other social settings.

Mr. Norman Kiak Nam KEE, M.Tech (NUS), M.Ed (NTU), B.Sc, Dip.Ed. Tech, Dip.Ed, B.C.S.E, a former secondary school teacher, is a lecturer with the Psychology and Child & Human Development Academic Group at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is Board Certified in Special Education by the American Academy of Special Education Professionals. He is also an elected member of the Omega Gamma Chi, a national honor society for special education teachers of the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET).

Ms. Tejashree Gambhir
Psychologist and Behavioural Interventions Expert

An ABA Therapist who focuses on working with individuals with ASD and their parents. Trained at NHS, Leicestershire, UK. Advocates improving the 'Quality of Life' of individuals with ASD and their families through her training.Tejashree has been extensively working with individuals with special needs and their parents through evidence-based therapy approaches. She has worked as a panel consultant for special needs at Sahyadri Hospitals and as an inclusion facilitator at Pawar Public School in Pune. Her experience as a trainee observer at NHS, Leicestershire, UK comes in handy in terms of designing and implementing effective and comprehensive therapy plans. Her area of work mainly emphasizes IEP development through skills, profile assessments and facilitating positive learning.

She advocates training & empowering parents, teachers and carers and increasing the overall Quality of Life of individuals with ASD and their families.
